Marketing AIgency vs. ad tools: an honest comparison (2026)
By Christian Bozic, Founder of Marketing AIgency · Updated · 14 min read
Short answer
Ad tools fall into five groups: Meta's own automation (Advantage+ and free rules), rule tools like Bïrch, AI optimizers like Madgicx and AdAmigo, attribution tools like Triple Whale, Hyros and Northbeam, and do-it-yourself setups with an MCP server plus Claude or ChatGPT. Marketing AIgency (our product) sits between optimizer and attribution: agents investigate the account, propose changes with reasons into an approval queue and steer on your real company revenue, for a flat monthly price with no share of ad spend. It is the youngest tool here, Google Ads and TikTok are still in testing, and it has no call tracking and no BI suite, so several tools below fit some teams better.
Key takeaways
- Pick by the job you need done: acting in the ad account, measuring real revenue, or both. Few tools do both well.
- Pricing models differ more than prices: Bïrch, Madgicx and Optmyzr scale with ad spend, Triple Whale with GMV, Hyros with tracked revenue, Northbeam by ad spend tier and pageviews, AdAmigo per ad account. Marketing AIgency charges a flat monthly price.
- Approval before a change is available in AdAmigo (review first), Optmyzr, Madgicx's AI Marketer, Triple Whale's Moby and Marketing AIgency. Rule tools run what you configured.
- In one live account we measured Meta, Google and TikTok claiming 2.2 times the revenue the company actually made (Germany, September 2026). The number a tool steers on matters.
- Disclosure: we build Marketing AIgency. Competitor facts come from the vendors' own pages, checked in September 2026, with links.
What kinds of Facebook ads tools are there in 2026?
There are five kinds, and they solve different problems. Meta's own automation (Advantage+ and automated rules in Ads Manager) decides delivery inside Meta. Rule tools such as Bïrch run the if-then logic you write. AI optimizers such as Madgicx and AdAmigo analyze the account and prepare changes. Attribution tools such as Triple Whale, Hyros and Northbeam measure which ads produce real sales. DIY setups connect Claude or ChatGPT to your ad account through an MCP server, and you drive them from a chat.
Enterprise platforms like Smartly (creative and buying at volume) and search-first tools like Optmyzr (Google and Microsoft Ads) sit next to these groups. Marketing AIgency combines an optimizer with its own measurement: agents act in the ad account, and the Attribution add-on measures revenue with a first-party pixel and a post-purchase survey.
I have run ad accounts for twelve years, on agency side and client side, including as Head of Push Marketing at a Munich app company. The mistake I saw most often was buying a second tool of the same kind while the actual gap sat in the other half: great dashboards and nobody moving budget, or busy automation steering on numbers the bank account did not confirm.
How do the tools compare at a glance?
The master table uses only what each vendor publishes on its own site, checked in September 2026. Prices change often, so follow the source link before you buy.
| Tool | Platforms it acts on | What it does | Who decides | Steers on company revenue? | Pricing model (source) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Meta Advantage+ and automated rules | Meta only | Meta's AI picks audience, placements, budget split and creative variations; rules pause, change budgets or notify | Meta's system inside your settings; rules you write | No, Meta's own attributed results | Included, you pay only ad spend; up to 250 rules per ad account (Meta, rules) |
| Bïrch (formerly Revealbot) | Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, Snapchat | Automated rules, bulk launching, reports | Your rules run automatically | Not listed on the pricing page | Essential $49/month, Pro $99/month, scales with monthly ad spend across connected accounts, 14-day trial without card (pricing) |
| Madgicx | Meta (reports also show Google, TikTok, GA4, Shopify) | AI Marketer proposals, AI ads, automation rules | One-click launch for AI Marketer proposals; rules run on their own | Partly: One-Click Report shows MER across channels; Tracking Pro add-on $49/month per account | Tiered by monthly ad spend, price shown in the app, 7-day trial (pricing) |
| AdAmigo | Meta, Google Ads; TikTok announced for later in 2026 | AI autopilot, chat agent, ad factory | "Review first" or "auto-apply" mode | Says it optimizes on real revenue through CRM and store sync | $99 or $349 per month per ad account, 7-day trial (pricing) |
| Smartly | Social platforms, connected TV, open web DSPs, video | Creative automation and cross-channel buying for large teams | Enterprise workflows | Not listed publicly | Not public, demo only (smartly.io) |
| Optmyzr | Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Amazon Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, Yahoo! Japan | Rule Engine, scripts, audits, Sidekick AI | "No changes without your approval, ever" | Not stated | Tiered by ad spend, 14-day trial without card (pricing) |
| Triple Whale | Shopify-centered ecommerce; Moby can act in Meta, Google, TikTok and more | Pixel, multi-touch attribution, dashboards, SQL editor, Moby AI | Moby within your approval settings: "ask every time" or "let Moby decide"; automations and autonomous actions on Automate (Moby Actions) | Yes, ecommerce store revenue | Free plan; Foundation $219/month and Automate $749/month on the Shopify listing; priced by GMV, 12-month terms (pricing, Shopify) |
| Hyros | Sends data to Meta, Google, TikTok; does not manage ads | Tracking, attribution, call tracking, send-back to ad platforms | You act on the reports | Yes, tracked sales including calls | One plan by tracked monthly revenue, $69/month up to $5,000 (pricing) |
| Northbeam | Measures multi-channel ecommerce; does not manage ads | Multi-touch attribution; incrementality and Media Mix Modeling+ as add-ons on higher plans | You act on the reports | Yes, ecommerce revenue | Plan chosen by annual ad spend, price set by data volume (pageviews); Starter from $1,500/month, month to month; Professional from $3,500/month, annual term; Growth and Enterprise on quote (pricing) |
| DIY: MCP server + Claude or ChatGPT | Meta's official server reads and writes (open beta); Google's official server only reads | The AI pulls reports and, where allowed, changes campaigns when you ask | You, per request; nothing happens between requests | Only if you give it your revenue data | Meta lists no fee; you pay your AI plan, for example Claude Pro or ChatGPT Plus at $20/month (Meta, Claude) |
| Marketing AIgency (our product) | Meta live; Google Ads and TikTok connect the same way and are being tested with first accounts | Agents investigate, then propose with reasons; watchers check budgets and ads every 30 minutes | You, through an approval queue; shadow mode for new accounts; optional "autonomous with limits" per action type | Yes: Shopify, CRM, Google Sheet or our first-party pixel | Fixed monthly plans, no share of ad spend, 30-day trial without card (pricing) |
Which features does each tool have?
The feature matrix answers yes, no or partly for the questions that decide most purchases. "Not stated" means the vendor's public pages did not say, not that the feature is missing.
| Tool | Changes ads itself | Asks before a change | Acts on Meta, Google and TikTok | Uses your own revenue data | Own pixel or survey | Call tracking | Price independent of spend or revenue |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Advantage+ and rules | Yes, inside Meta | No | No, Meta only | No | No, Meta pixel | Not stated | Yes, no fee |
| Bïrch | Yes, by your rules | No, rules run on their own | Yes, plus Snapchat | Not stated | Not stated | Not stated | No, scales with ad spend |
| Madgicx | Yes, on Meta | Partly: AI Marketer yes, rules no | No, Google and TikTok in reports only | Partly, MER in reports | Partly, Tracking Pro add-on | Not stated | No, by ad spend |
| AdAmigo | Yes | Yes in review-first mode | Partly: Meta and Google, TikTok announced | Yes, according to AdAmigo | Not stated | Not stated | Yes, per ad account |
| Smartly | Yes | Not public | Not public in detail | Not public | Not public | Not public | Not public |
| Optmyzr | Yes | Yes | Partly: Google, Microsoft, Meta and more; TikTok not confirmed | Not stated | Not stated | Not stated | No, by ad spend |
| Triple Whale | Yes, through Moby; autonomous actions on Automate | Yes, if set to ask every time | Yes, according to Triple Whale | Yes, store revenue | Yes, pixel and survey | Not stated | No, by GMV |
| Hyros | No | Not applicable | Not applicable | Yes | Yes, own tracking | Yes | No, by tracked revenue |
| Northbeam | No | Not applicable | Not applicable | Yes | Own attribution | Not stated | No, by spend tier and pageviews |
| DIY MCP | Partly, depends on the server | Yes, per request | Partly, Google official server read-only | Only if you supply it | No | No | Yes, AI plan only |
| Marketing AIgency | Yes, after approval | Yes, approval queue and shadow mode | Partly: Meta live, Google and TikTok in testing | Yes | Yes, Attribution add-on | No | Yes, flat monthly price |
Which tool fits which situation?
Start from your situation, not the feature list. This is how I would decide if I were running the account myself.
| Your situation | Look at first | Why |
|---|---|---|
| One or two Meta campaigns, little time, small budget | Advantage+ plus a few free Meta rules | No extra cost, and enough to catch obvious losers |
| Media buyer with a proven playbook across Meta, Google, TikTok and Snapchat | Bïrch | Runs exactly your rules on all four platforms |
| Meta-heavy shop that wants AI ads, audiences and automation in one app | Madgicx | Creative, audiences and rules together, priced by ad spend |
| One large-budget account on Meta and Google | AdAmigo | Per-account price that does not rise with spend |
| Global brand producing creative at high volume, including video and CTV | Smartly | Built for enterprise creative and buying workflows |
| Most spend on Google and Microsoft search and shopping | Optmyzr | Deep PPC tooling with approval |
| Shopify brand that wants BI, benchmarks and cohorts | Triple Whale | Ecommerce analytics with AI on top |
| High-ticket offers sold on sales calls | Hyros | Call and deal tracking |
| Large ecommerce budget that needs incrementality and MMM | Northbeam | Incrementality and Media Mix Modeling+ add-ons |
| You like working in a chat and know the API | MCP server with Claude or ChatGPT | Full control per request, low cost |
| You want the daily work done by agents, see every change first and steer on real revenue | Marketing AIgency | Approval queue, shadow mode, watchers every 30 minutes, flat price |
Several of these combine. An attribution tool plus a rule tool is common. What I would avoid is two systems changing the same budget: that is how an ad set gets raised by one tool and paused by another within the same hour.
Madgicx vs Marketing AIgency: what is the difference?
Both prepare changes you can approve, but they steer on different numbers and cover different ground. Madgicx manages Meta and brings creative generation, AI audiences and automation rules in one app, with a cross-channel dashboard for reporting. Marketing AIgency puts every proposal with its reasoning into an approval queue, starts new accounts in shadow mode and steers on your company number instead of Meta's reported ROAS.
Madgicx is stronger if you want AI audiences and creative tools inside the optimizer and only run Meta. Marketing AIgency fits better if your revenue lives in a CRM or spreadsheet, if you want one price that does not grow with spend, or if you want a log where every change has a reason and a measured effect after seven days. The full breakdown is in our Madgicx alternative comparison.
Where is Marketing AIgency stronger?
Our strengths are control and the target number. These are the points where we think we are ahead of most tools above:
- Investigate first, then propose. Agents look at the numbers before they suggest anything, and every proposal arrives with its reasoning. You approve, and it is executed.
- Shadow mode. New accounts start with nothing executed, so you can compare the agents' proposals with your own decisions before you let anything run.
- Watchers every 30 minutes. Budget and ad checks run around the clock in every plan. An MCP server only answers when you ask; many rule setups check on the schedule you set.
- Company revenue as the target. The agents steer on real revenue or real leads from Shopify, your CRM, a Google Sheet or our first-party pixel. That also works for lead generation and services without a store.
- A log you can audit. Each change is recorded with data and reasoning, and its effect is measured after seven days.
- Protection in plain language. In the Co-Pilot chat you can say "never touch campaigns with KEEP in the name" and the agents respect it.
- Flat price. Fixed monthly plans with no share of ad spend, so the bill does not rise when you scale.
Where are other tools stronger, and when should you not choose us?
Be clear about the limits before you sign up anywhere. These are the Marketing AIgency alternatives we would point you to ourselves, depending on your situation:
- You sell on sales calls. We have no call tracking. Hyros tracks booked calls and closed deals (Hyros alternative).
- You need Google Ads or TikTok automation at full depth today. Meta is fully live with us. Google Ads and TikTok connect the same way and are being tested with the first accounts. Building campaigns, copying winners and geo tests run on Meta only for now. Optmyzr is the more mature choice for Google-heavy accounts, Bïrch for rules across four platforms.
- You want a BI suite. We have no SQL editor, no peer benchmarks and no media mix modeling. Triple Whale and Northbeam serve that better (Triple Whale alternative).
- You produce video creative at volume. Our Creative team builds static image ads from what worked in your account, not videos. Smartly and Madgicx go further on creative.
- You want a long track record. We are the youngest tool on this page, with fewer integrations and fewer public reviews than the established vendors.
- Your budget is very small. If you run one campaign at a few hundred euros a month, Advantage+ with free Meta rules may be all you need.
- You want full control at minimal cost and like the API. A self-hosted MCP server gives you that. See our Meta Ads MCP guide and Google Ads MCP guide.
How do the pricing models compare?
The model matters more than the entry price, because it decides how your bill moves when you grow. Spend-based pricing (Bïrch, Madgicx, Optmyzr) rises with your budget. Revenue-based pricing (Triple Whale by GMV, Hyros by tracked revenue) rises with sales. Northbeam picks the plan by ad spend and sets the price by data volume (pageviews). AdAmigo charges per ad account. An MCP setup costs your AI plan plus your own time.
Marketing AIgency has fixed monthly plans with no share of ad spend. Every plan includes the Performance team, the Creative team and the Co-Pilot. The plans differ in how often the agents optimize: twice a day, four times a day or Always On. Watchers check every 30 minutes in every plan. Add-ons can be booked on any plan: Attribution (first-party pixel, post-purchase survey, Conversions API send-back to Meta, geo-lift), Vibe Reporting (ask your numbers questions, upload tables, build reports), Pages & CRO (landing pages, funnels, A/B tests, offer and landing page check) and Unlimited Creatives (more static ads). No add-on is part of a plan. You add the ones you need. Net, plus VAT where applicable.
To compare fairly, model each tool at your current spend and at twice that spend, and add any add-ons you would need (tracking, extra accounts). If you are also weighing an agency, our agency comparison calculates that side.
How do you switch tools without breaking your account?
Switch in parallel, not in one step. The order below works for any of the tools on this page.
- Write down what your current tool changes: active rules, autopilot settings, which campaigns they touch.
- Connect the new tool read-only or in shadow mode first. With Marketing AIgency, shadow mode shows what the agents would have done without touching campaigns.
- Compare both for one to two weeks against your real shop or CRM revenue, not against each other.
- Hand over campaign by campaign. Never let two systems change the same budget.
- If you change attribution tools, run both pixels in parallel for at least two weeks and switch off the old Conversions API send-back only after the new events arrive.
- Check contract terms before you cancel: Triple Whale's paid plans run 12 months, Northbeam's Starter plan is month to month, and its Professional and Enterprise plans run on annual terms.
- Keep your spending limits in Meta in place during the whole switch.
How did we build this comparison?
We read each vendor's own pricing and product pages in September 2026 and linked every claim to its source. Where a vendor does not publish something, the table says "not stated" or "not public" instead of guessing. We did not run paid tests of every tool. Marketing AIgency is our own product from CBX Media LLC, which is why its limits are listed in their own section. If a vendor changes prices or features, tell us and we will update the page.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Facebook ads tool in 2026?
It depends on the job. Advantage+ with free rules is enough for small accounts, Bïrch suits rule-based media buyers, Madgicx and AdAmigo suit teams who want AI proposals, and Triple Whale, Hyros or Northbeam suit teams that mainly need attribution. Marketing AIgency suits teams that want agents with approval that steer on real company revenue.
Madgicx vs Marketing AIgency: which is cheaper?
Madgicx prices by monthly ad spend and shows the exact price in the app, plus $49 per month per account for Tracking Pro. Marketing AIgency charges a fixed monthly price with no share of ad spend, so the comparison depends on your spend. Model both at your current budget and at twice that budget.
Is Marketing AIgency an MCP server?
No. It is hosted software with agents, watchers and an approval queue, for teams that do not want to set up and secure an MCP server themselves. If you prefer driving Claude or ChatGPT from a chat, an MCP server is the cheaper route.
Do I need an attribution tool and an optimizer?
Often yes, because one measures and the other acts. Marketing AIgency combines both when you add the Attribution add-on, but tools like Triple Whale or Northbeam go deeper on analytics. Avoid letting two optimizers change the same budget.
Does Marketing AIgency work with Google Ads and TikTok?
Google Ads and TikTok connect the same way as Meta and are being tested with the first accounts (September 2026). Meta is fully live. Building campaigns, copying winners and geo tests run on Meta only for now.
Which AI ads tools have a free trial?
Bïrch and Optmyzr offer 14 days without a card, Madgicx and AdAmigo 7 days, and Triple Whale has a free plan. Marketing AIgency offers 30 days without a card, starting when you connect your first ad account (as of September 2026).
Compare the agents with your own decisions
Connect a Meta account, leave shadow mode on and read the first proposals with their reasons. 30 days free, no card, and the clock starts with your first connected ad account. After that the agents pause until you pick a plan, nothing is charged automatically.
