Triple Whale alternative: five options compared for 2026
By Christian Bozic, Founder of Marketing AIgency · Updated · 10 min read
Short answer
The best Triple Whale alternative depends on what you want to replace. Northbeam fits brands with large ad budgets that need deep attribution and media mix modeling, Polar Analytics fits teams that want their own data warehouse, Lifetimely fits smaller Shopify stores that care about profit and LTV, and Hyros fits funnel and call-based businesses. Marketing AIgency fits teams that want AI agents to act in Meta, Google and TikTok with an approval step, at a flat monthly price instead of a price tied to revenue.
Key takeaways
- Triple Whale prices paid plans by annual GMV plus package, on 12-month subscriptions (Triple Whale pricing FAQ, September 2026).
- The Shopify App Store listing shows Foundation at $219 per month and Automate at $749 per month; Enterprise is priced on request.
- Northbeam picks the plan by ad spend and prices by pageviews, Polar by online GMV, Lifetimely by orders, Hyros by tracked revenue.
- Triple Whale is still the better choice for Shopify brands that want BI, benchmarks and AI in one tool.
- Marketing AIgency charges a flat monthly price, no share of ad spend or GMV, and works for lead generation as well as ecommerce.
What does Triple Whale do, and what does it cost in September 2026?
Triple Whale is an analytics and AI platform for ecommerce brands, built around the Shopify ecosystem. It combines its own tracking pixel (Triple Pixel), multi-touch attribution, dashboards with a SQL editor, and an AI layer called Moby that answers questions and, on higher plans, takes actions in ad accounts. The company says more than 60,000 brands use it (Triple Whale pricing page, as of September 2026).
Pricing has two inputs: your annual GMV and the package you pick. Triple Whale does not print fixed prices on its own pricing page; it uses a revenue slider and demo calls. Its Shopify App Store listing does show monthly prices for two packages.
| Plan | Entry price | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Triple Pixel with first and last click attribution, standard post-purchase survey, 10 users, 12-month lookback |
| Foundation | $219 per month (Shopify listing) | Multi-touch attribution, all attribution models, custom dashboards, SQL editor, segments, daily Moby |
| Automate | $749 per month (Shopify listing) | Moby automations and actions: budget changes, pausing ads, launching campaigns within approval settings, Creative Studio, landing pages |
| Enterprise | on request | Compass (MMM, incrementality and attribution in one), multi-brand reporting, SSO and custom security review |
Sources: Shopify App Store listing for the $219 and $749 monthly prices, Triple Whale pricing page for features and terms. Triple Whale states that prices depend on annual GMV, so your quote can differ from the Shopify listing. Two terms matter for the budget. Paid plans are 12-month subscriptions, billed monthly or annually with two months free. And as your revenue grows, you automatically move to the plan for your new revenue tier, unless an annual prepayment has locked the tier for the year.
Why do brands look for a Triple Whale alternative?
Most switching questions come down to fit, not quality. Triple Whale holds a 4.1 of 5 rating from 90 reviews on the Shopify App Store (as of September 26, 2026). The reasons people compare usually look like this:
- Price tied to revenue. Your bill moves up when GMV moves up, even if your marketing team and ad spend stay the same.
- 12-month commitment. Teams that want to test a tool for a quarter find the subscription length too long.
- Ecommerce first. Lead generation, B2B services and app businesses have no GMV and no Shopify store, so much of the product does not apply.
- Execution on the lower plans. Taking actions in ad accounts sits in Automate; Foundation is mainly measurement and analysis.
- Data ownership. Some teams want raw data in their own warehouse rather than inside a vendor dashboard.
Which Triple Whale alternatives are worth comparing?
The table lists five tools that come up most often in this comparison, with the pricing model each vendor publishes. Marketing AIgency is our product; we list it last and name its gaps further down.
| Tool | Focus | Pricing model | Published entry price | Fits best |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Triple Whale | Shopify analytics, pixel, Moby AI agents | Annual GMV plus package, 12-month subscription | Free; Foundation from $219/mo; Automate from $749/mo | Shopify DTC brands wanting BI and AI in one place |
| Northbeam | Multi-touch attribution, MMM, incrementality | Plan by ad spend tier, price by data volume (pageviews) | Starter from $1,500 per month (brands under $1.5M ad spend per year, month to month); Professional from $3,500 per month (annual term) | Ecommerce brands with large, multi-channel ad budgets |
| Polar Analytics | Data platform on a dedicated Snowflake database, pixel, AI agents, MCP | Online GMV, custom quotes | Core Plan from $750/mo (Shopify App Store) | Teams that want their own warehouse and a semantic layer |
| Lifetimely | Profit, P&L, LTV and cohorts | Orders per month | Free; $49, $149, $299/mo (500, 3,000, 7,000 orders) | Smaller Shopify stores focused on margin and LTV |
| Hyros | Tracking and attribution, data pushed back to ad platforms | Tracked monthly revenue | From $69/mo (up to $5K tracked revenue) | Funnels, courses, SaaS and call-based sales |
| Marketing AIgency | AI agents that propose and execute changes in Meta, Google and TikTok, with approval | Flat monthly price, no share of ad spend or GMV | See pricing; 30-day trial without card | Ecommerce and lead generation teams that want execution with control |

How do the alternatives differ in practice?
Northbeam is the closest like-for-like replacement on measurement. You pick the plan by ad spend, and the price within a plan follows your data volume in pageviews. It offers view-through attribution, media mix modeling as an optional add-on on Enterprise, and from Professional upward integrations with ecommerce platforms beyond Shopify. Professional starts at $3,500 per month on an annual term, so it suits brands whose ad budget makes that a small line item.
Polar Analytics is the pick if your data team wants to own the data. Every plan includes a dedicated Snowflake database, unlimited users and a first-party pixel, and Polar offers an MCP interface for AI tools. On its own site, pricing depends on your annual GMV; the Shopify listing starts the Core Plan at $750 per month.
Lifetimely answers a narrower question well: which customers and channels make money after costs. With a free plan and order-based tiers, it is the cheapest way for a small Shopify store to get LTV and profit reporting.
Hyros focuses on tracking every sale back to its ad and sending cleaner conversion data to the platforms. It sells one plan with all features, priced by tracked revenue, and offers setup with its implementation team. We compare it in detail in our Hyros alternative guide.
Marketing AIgency starts from the ad account rather than the dashboard. AI agents check your Meta, Google and TikTok accounts, look at the numbers before they suggest anything, and put every suggestion with its reasoning into an approval queue. You approve, and the change is executed. Watchers check budgets and ads every 30 minutes, around the clock, and every change is logged with its data, its reason and its measured effect after seven days.
Which number should your tool steer on?
Every tool in this list tries to fix the same problem: ad platforms each claim credit for the same sale. We see this in live data. A connected-car app that runs its ads through the same agent system we sell, across nine markets and about €470,000 in monthly ad spend, found that in Germany in September 2026 Meta, Google and TikTok together claimed 2.2 times the revenue the company actually made. Google alone reported €31.3k while the company booked €23.4k.
Over-count factor = sum of platform-reported revenue ÷ actual company revenue
That is why Marketing AIgency steers on the company number: real revenue or real leads from Shopify, your CRM, a Google Sheet or our first-party pixel. Attribution comes from that pixel plus a post-purchase survey, and conversions are sent back to Meta through the Conversions API. The true ROAS guide shows how to calculate the gap for your own account.
When is Triple Whale the better choice?
Stay with Triple Whale, or pick it, if most of these apply to you:
- You run a Shopify DTC brand and want BI, cohorts, product analysis and peer benchmarks in one place.
- Your analysts want a SQL editor and no-code dashboards on top of cleaned ecommerce data.
- You plan to use MMM and incrementality testing at Enterprise level.
- You want AI creative generation and Shopify landing pages inside your analytics tool.
- You are small and the free plan with Triple Pixel covers what you need today.
Marketing AIgency is not a BI suite. It has no SQL editor, no MMM and no peer benchmarks. Its Vibe Reporting add-on answers questions about your numbers and takes table uploads, but if dashboards are your main need, Triple Whale, Polar or Lifetimely serve you better.
When does Marketing AIgency fit better?
- You want changes made in the ad account, with a person approving each one, rather than another dashboard to read.
- You sell services or generate leads and your revenue lives in a CRM or spreadsheet, not in Shopify.
- You want a price that does not rise with your GMV or ad spend.
- You want to start safely: new accounts run in shadow mode, where nothing is executed until you switch it on. Single action types can later be set to autonomous within limits you define.
Be aware of the platform status. Meta is fully live. Google Ads and TikTok connect the same way and are being tested with the first accounts. Building campaigns, copying winners and geo tests currently run on Meta only. Marketing AIgency is also not an MCP server; it is a hosted app for teams that do not want to set one up themselves. If you are weighing that route, read our Meta Ads MCP guide.
How do you switch from Triple Whale without losing data?
- Export the reports you rely on (attribution by channel, cohorts, LTV) as CSV before your subscription ends.
- Note your renewal date. Paid plans run for 12 months, so plan the switch around it.
- Run the new tool in parallel for at least two weeks, so both pixels collect data on the same orders.
- Compare both against your actual Shopify or CRM revenue, not against each other.
- Remove the old pixel only after the new numbers are stable.
With Marketing AIgency, the parallel run is built in: shadow mode shows what the agents would have done, without touching your campaigns.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Triple Whale alternative?
There is no single best one. Northbeam fits large multi-channel budgets, Polar fits teams that want their own warehouse, Lifetimely fits small Shopify stores focused on profit, and Hyros fits funnels and call-based sales. Marketing AIgency fits teams that want AI agents to execute approved changes in their ad accounts at a flat price.
How much does Triple Whale cost in 2026?
There is a free plan. The Shopify App Store lists Foundation at $219 per month and Automate at $749 per month, as of September 2026. The actual price depends on your annual GMV, and paid plans are 12-month subscriptions. Enterprise is priced on request.
Is there a free Triple Whale alternative?
Lifetimely has a free plan on Shopify for profit and LTV reporting. Triple Whale itself also has a free plan with its pixel and first and last click attribution. Marketing AIgency offers a 30-day trial without a card, starting when you connect your first ad account.
Does Triple Whale work without Shopify?
Triple Whale is built for ecommerce and lists several ecommerce platform integrations, but its product is designed around online store revenue. If you generate leads or sell services, tools that read revenue from a CRM or spreadsheet are a better fit.
Can Triple Whale make changes in my ad accounts?
Yes, on the Automate plan and above. Moby can adjust budgets, pause ads and launch campaigns within the approval settings and guardrails you set, according to Triple Whale's pricing FAQ as of September 2026.
